Stealth Spartan Soft Wash System

The Stealth 12V Soft Wash System comes equipped with a high quality Titen aluminum hose reel and stainless steel manifold. This system is designed to be compact, durable, and efficient. If you do this for a living and you need a high quality soft wash system that's built to last, this is the unit for you.

The Stealth unit comes with a 12V motor, with your choice of a Remco 5.3 GPM or 7.0 GPM pump, making it ideal for cleaning decks, patios, driveways, roofs, houses and more. The aluminum hose reel can hold up to 200 feet of hose, allowing you to easily reach all of your outdoor surfaces.

Why Quality Matters in Soft Washing

Soft washing involves using low-pressure water combined with specific chemicals to remove mildew, bacteria, algae, and other organic stains. The chemicals used in soft washing are typically designed to be effective yet safe for the surfaces and the environment. However, some of these chemicals can be corrosive to your soft wash system if it's not built with anti-corrosive materials such as aluminum.

The corrosive nature of these chemicals can cause low quality soft wash systems to degrade quickly due to rust and corrosion. The long-term cost of using low-quality systems are not beneficial from a business perspective. You will spend more on replacement parts in the long run.

The Stealth Spartan's all aluminum construction makes it resistant to such corrosive breakdown.

The most common corrosive chemicals used in soft washing include:

  1. Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach):

    • Concentration: Typically used at 10-12.5% concentration.
    • Purpose: It is a powerful disinfectant and bleaching agent that effectively kills mold, mildew, algae, and bacteria.
    • Corrosive Properties: Sodium hypochlorite is highly corrosive, especially at higher concentrations, and can damage metal surfaces, plants, and skin if not diluted and applied correctly.
    • Impact on Soft Wash Systems: If the system's components, such as pumps, valves, hoses, or fittings, are made from materials that are not resistant to sodium hypochlorite, they can corrode quickly. This corrosion can reduce the lifespan of the equipment, lead to costly repairs, and decrease the overall effectiveness of the soft wash system.
  2. Surfactants

    • Function: Surfactants are added to soft wash solutions to improve the effectiveness of sodium hypochlorite by allowing it to adhere better to surfaces. They help to break the surface tension of water, allowing the cleaning solution to spread more evenly.
    • Corrosiveness: Surfactants are generally not corrosive but can cause irritation to the skin and eyes. They may vary in strength and environmental impact depending on their formulation.
    • Impact on Soft Wash Systems: Surfactants may not directly corrode the system but can interact with other chemicals to enhance corrosive effects or degrade non-metallic components, leading to system wear over time
  3. Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda)

    • Function: Sodium hydroxide is occasionally used in soft washing as a powerful degreaser and to break down organic matter, such as oil, grease, and heavy grime. It can also help to enhance the cleaning power of the solution in certain situations.
    • Corrosiveness: Sodium hydroxide is highly corrosive, especially to metals, skin, and organic materials. It can cause severe chemical burns upon contact and can also corrode metal surfaces if not properly diluted and rinsed. Proper safety precautions, including protective gear, are essential when handling sodium hydroxide.
    • Impact on Soft Wash Systems: Components of the soft wash system that are made from non-resistant metals can be severely damaged by sodium hydroxide. For example, steel components may rust and weaken, while brass fittings can degrade, leading to leaks and malfunctions. Aluminum will not corrode in this way.
